About

For more than a century, the Chico Women’s Club has been part of Chico’s cultural and civic life. Established in 1913, it began as a place for women to gather, support one another, and contribute to the community — and it continues to play that role today.

What started as a women-led initiative has evolved into a space where events, conversations, and local initiatives continue to shape the community.

Mission Statement

The Chico Women’s Club is a non-partisan, non-profit women’s organization supporting the community by promoting the arts, education, and community building. We maintain our historical building and our 1911 Steinway grand piano so that they can be used by the community for concerts, dances, classes and lectures, weddings, and charitable functions.

Putting the Mission into Action

This mission shows up through events, programs, and initiatives that support local culture and community involvement.

We come together out of an impulse of service that provides personal fulfillment and community. We support personal growth along with creativity and we celebrate the power of the arts.

Our vision is to support local community groups, individuals and artists to have access to an affordable venue centered on the Arts, Education and Community building.
